Museum of Math

Overview

To launch the country’s only Museum of Mathematics, Phil & Co. planned and executed an integrated marketing, brand positioning, advertising and communications plan that generated millions of media impressions and ran ads in major print, digital, broadcast and outdoor media. Our strategic goal was to dispel the misperception that math is boring or nerdy and show that math can be fun, beautiful and useful by showcasing MoMath’s one-of-a-kind interactive and kid-friendly exhibits.

The agency’s work supported our positioning of MoMath as “math, unsquared” and “the coolest thing that ever happened to math.”
Phil & Co.’s public relations efforts generated local, national and worldwide placements, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Gothamist, Newsday, New York Magazine, Daily News, Star-Ledger, WABC TV and Associated Press. The accompanying ad campaign placements included the New York Times, New York Post, Daily News, PBS.com, TimeOut.com, WNYC and numerous subway stations.
