Phil & Co. is proud to have helped our client, the National Museum of Mathematics, in tripling its first-year attendance goal. Happy Birthday, MoMath!
MoMath – the only math museum in North America – opened December 15, 2012, and has already attracted over 170,000 visitors. The Museum is leading the way in changing public perceptions of mathematics by revealing the fun, cool and beautiful aspects that can keep children interested in the subject for life.
Phil & Co. was retained in 2012 to launch MoMath with public relations, design, advertising and social media services, and we continue to provide public relations and strategic counsel to this top New York City destination that attracts families and tourists from around the world.
Last week, to kick off its first anniversary celebration, we helped MoMath gather nearly 2,000 people to “Pythagorize” the landmark Flatiron Building on 23rd Street and Fifth Avenue. Math enthusiasts of all ages surrounded the building with glow sticks to create a stunning illuminated proof of the Pythagorean Theorem. The largest math demonstration in New York history, this tribute was the first in an ongoing series ofMathHappenings planned by the museum that will celebrate New York landmarks through math and art.
Phil & Co. placed stories about the event in top media outlets, including the Los Angeles Times, Condé Nast Traveler, TIME and Business Insider.
We encourage you to visit MoMath at 11 E 26th Street, on the north side of Madison Square Park in Manhattan.
